Contact Your MP

One of the most effective things you can do right now is contact your local MP and ask them to support permanent protection for the Richmond River Koala Parks.

Political leaders need to know that people across NSW care about protecting these forests, wildlife habitat, and water catchments.

Even a short email can make a difference.

Why this matters

The proposed Richmond River Koala Parks contain critical habitat for koalas, Greater Gliders and many other threatened species. These forests also protect important water catchments and form part of one of the most biodiverse regions in Australia.

Decision-makers are hearing regularly from the logging industry. They also need to hear from the community.

What to say

You do not need to be an expert.

Keep your message personal, respectful and clear.

You could mention:

  • why these forests matter to you
  • concern about native forest logging
  • the importance of protecting koala habitat
  • concern for water security and climate resilience
  • support for permanent protection

Key message

Ask your MP to publicly support the creation of the Richmond River Koala Parks and the end of native forest logging in these forests.
